3D Printed Lamps in Singapore: Familiar Objects, Warm Light
Most lamps are trying very hard to disappear.
We wanted the lamp to be the thing you notice first, without making it obnoxious. It still has to be useful. It still has to give off warm light. But the shape should make you stop for a second.
That is the idea behind The Literal Lamp collection. We make 3D printed lamps in Singapore based on familiar objects: a Kueh Tutu, a roll of toilet paper, a piece of penne pasta. The object comes first. The light comes after.
The result is a small ambient lamp with a clear point of view.
Why 3D printing works for lamps
3D printing lets us make shapes that would be awkward to build with standard lamp parts.
A normal lampshade starts with a cone, cylinder, globe, or panel. We start with an object people already know. The curve of a Kueh Tutu. The ridges on penne. The quilted texture on a toilet paper roll.
Those details matter because the recognition only works if the object is clear. If the shape is vague, it becomes another plastic lamp. If the shape is right, the room gets warmer and weirder in the right way.
Designed in Singapore
PERSIMMON is designed in Singapore, and the references are not random.
The Kueh Tutu Lamp only makes sense because the shape is familiar here. It is not just a dessert-shaped light. It is a local object turned into a quiet glow for a shelf, bedside table, wall, or small corner.
The same logic runs through the rest of the collection. The Toilet Paper Lamp is a household object made strangely cozy. The Penne Pasta Lamp takes a pantry shape and scales it into something sculptural.
None of them are trying to look expensive in the usual way.
They are trying to feel specific.
Made for warm ambient light
These lamps are not built to replace a desk lamp or ceiling light.
They are made for the hours when the room does not need more brightness. It needs softness. A warm light next to the bed. A glow on a shelf. A small object on the TV console that makes the space feel less flat.
The Literal Lamp collection works best in those softer parts of the room.
Made to order
Each PERSIMMON lamp is made to order in Singapore.
That means the lamp is printed, assembled, checked, and packed after the order comes in. The process takes time, but it also keeps the work closer to the person making it.
There is no big warehouse of finished lamps waiting around. There is a design, a printer, a set of parts, and a finished object made for someone who decided this familiar thing deserved to glow.
